How to get a Premise ID Number: To obtain a premises ID (PIN), please contact the state animal health authority [Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) Administrator] for your state. A directory can be found at www.aphis.usda.gov/traceability/contact_us/directories.shtml.

EID Tags have a 15 digit number that will begin with the numbers 840 (the USA country code) or a 3 digit Manufacturer Code. The remaining 12 digits on the tag are unique to the individual animal. 840 tags comply with the requirements of the Animal Disease Traceability and require a Premise ID Number to purchase where Manufacture Code EID tags do not.
